Tool mechanics produce metal and plastic parts, embossing and pressing moulds as well as injection moulding, punching, forming and pressure tools from raw materials. They assemble individual machine elements into large devices and check the correct functioning of the components after final assembly. In their work, tool mechanics not only get to grips with the material by hand, but also use computer-controlled CNC machines, which they program themselves if necessary. Due to the high quality standards in production and assembly, the profession of tool mechanic is very demanding and requires a sound education.
