The job title gives the decisive indication of what a cutting machine operator does. With the help of machining processes such as milling, turning or grinding, workpieces are processed and finished products are manufactured from semi-finished products. Nowadays, computer-controlled machine tools are mostly used to manufacture metal components. They program, monitor and control the machining process. They typically work in metal and plastics processing companies.
