Efficient welding technology for robotic cells

Automated spot welding gun for robots and series production

SpeedGun® is the high-speed welding gun from LEWA Attendorn – developed for highly dynamic robot cells in industrial series production. It was specially developed for industrial series processes where speed, precision, and system integration are crucial.

Thanks to its robust design, integrated servo drive, and minimal weight, the SpeedGun® enables the shortest cycle times in resistance spot welding, even for complex joining processes. The SpeedGun® is not a standalone product, but a modular part of the holistic SpeedLine® system concept. It only reaches its full potential when used in combination with SpeedCell®, SpeedFrame®, or SpeedFlex®.

Your benefits with LEWA Attendorn

1 pair of pliers, 0.5 seconds closing time, 0 compressed air. And that for millions of cycles.

The advantages of SpeedGun®

Efficiency and precision in resistance spot welding

The automated spot welding gun helps your production team reduce cycle times, lower training costs, and maximize plant availability. It also impresses with its minimal integration effort.

Short cycle times

High acceleration values and short response times reduce the welding time per component while maintaining consistent seam quality.

Easy operation

Control via the robot HMI reduces training requirements and simplifies daily operation.

Less maintenance required

The electromechanical design minimizes wear, reduces downtime, and is suitable for multi-shift operation.

Quick integration

Thanks to its plug-and-play configuration, the SpeedGun® can be easily integrated into new or existing lines.

Flexible adaptation

The modular design allows for product-related variant changes without extensive modifications or rewiring.

Highest precision with minimal space requirements

Features of our SpeedGun® spot welding gun

The SpeedGun® was developed for automated joining processes with high cycle rate requirements. Its servo-electric drive technology, low weight, and direct control via the robot controller enable short cycle times with high repeat accuracy. These capabilities are also available in compact cells with high cycle density.

Servoelectric direct drive with 1,000 Hz

Power is transmitted via an integrated servomotor with medium-frequency technology. The force build-up is fast, precisely controllable, and consistently reproducible.

Low weight: X-clamp 73 kg, C-clamp 65 kg

The reduced mass lowers the inertia in the robot. This enables higher acceleration and shorter movement times in automated welding cells.

Pliers closing times under 0.5 seconds

Thanks to servo-electric kinematics and powerful control technology, the grippers close faster than pneumatic systems with precisely controlled force progression.

Compressed air-free design saves up to 30% energy

The fully electromechanical design eliminates the need for an external compressed air supply. This reduces energy consumption and simplifies the system technology.

Compatible with industrial robots

The SpeedGun® is optimized for use with modern, industrially standardized robot systems. The central control unit allows robots and welding guns to be controlled together without separate interfaces.

SpeedGun Fastener

Welding nuts and bolts

The nut and screw welding pliers in combination with a handling robot or with a fixed mounting position. Replaces a normal projection welding press, saves a lot of space and, thanks to servo drive, also energy. Can be combined with a SpeedGun® in a cell via automated tool change.
